Term Paper on Cultural and
Racial Discrimination
Cultural and Racial Discrimination, a serious trouble exists all over the
world. Racial coercion takes place in the poorest and the richest countries,
including America. In the majority areas, the verdict race is upper class
whites that run the system, and have an uneven amount of supremacy.
Racism is impartially defined as any perform of ethnic discrimination or
isolation. Fortunately, racial aggression is progressively declining as the
turn of the century approaches. Racism is still strappingly prevalent in
today's civilization. The three different essential forms of racism; open
racism, violent racism, and covert racism all express forms of abhorrence
towards discrete ethnic groups. When we look at physical characteristics
such as skin color from the social description perspective, there is no
clear logic, but these characteristics do have what is referred to as social
meaning. “Racial groups define as a human group that defines itself and is
distinct by other groups as diverse from other groups by virtue of
instinctive and indisputable physical characteristics”. (Burke, Ronald J.
1990)

Racial group differences are based upon ideological racism, which links
physical qualities to the lesser or greater cultural and intellectual
characteristics. Creating more than one hundred years ago, people through
only one-eighth African ancestry, but even devoid of any physical
characteristics usually associated with African Americans, is still measured
black by today’s society. People refer to this as the one drop of blood
rule, which essentially is saying that if you have any African blood in you,
you will most likely still be measured black no issue how much of any other
blood you have in you. This is extremely unfair to mixed people around the
world as people want to be measured whatever they endure they should be, not
what society classifies them as. If this were true for all races, then how
come someone who is only one-eighth white isn’t considered white by society?
Almost certainly as society considers African Americans as the minority, so
this became a cultural universal on how to judge if someone must be
considered black or white.
Racial and cultural discrimination is not only present in America but whole
world is suffering this discrimination.
One of the most primitive examples, which still exist today, is the caste
system practice in India since c. 1500 BC. The caste system is entrenched
into the Hindu religion, in which fair-skinned Brahmins rule over the
dark-skinned population, which in itself is alienated into lower
hierarchical classes with Dalits on the bottom. Another example is of
Ancient Egyptians were well conscious of the physical variations of humans.
Yet, they distinguished groups according to ethnicities. Egyptians often
murdered redheaded people who gazed at their culture as symbols of evil
whenever they stumble upon them.
One of the most horrible demonstrations of racist ideas took place in
Germany under the authority of Hitler. Adolf Hitler was born in Austria in
1889. His father was a mad drunkard who died when Hitler was 14. His
teachers portrayed Hitler as hot-tempered, egotistical as well as sluggish.
He later traveled to Vienna to become a painter. In Vienna he built up a
terrible hate of Jews. In that period many Jews had fine jobs and were
moderately wealthy, which actually made Hitler jealous. When Hitler’s mother
died he went into political affairs, and founded "The German National
Socialist Working Party" in 1920. He was also the founder of regime
Holocaust which aim was to kill each and every Jewish in this world. “Racial
discrimination is no longer obvious: people these days are unenthusiastic to
state openly their dislike and hatred for minorities, indeed are not ready
to state publicly an emotion that could be interpreted as racist”. (Henry,
Frances and Ginzberg, E. 1995)

Racism, it is said, is restrained: it is camouflaged, kept out of sight. The
proposition that there is a new racism, a racism that has a new force
specifically because it doesn't emerge to be racism deserves solemn
deliberation. Avoiding minorities on the street and refutation of a public
advantage to a minority which would be awarded to a white are instances of
covert racism. As it is no longer politically proper to explicitly express
one's racist views, people consequently favor disguised, indirect ways to
articulate their bigotry.
The three main reasons for racism are: racism has turn out to be part of our
legacy, right-wing racial and biased groups, and arrogance in one's own
race. Virtually since the dawn of man's survival, man has certainly noticed
differences between races. Racism's occurrence throughout the configuration
of our culture is quite obvious. Often all through history the ethnic group
with the most influence has implicit that its race and culture are greater
to others. The same incident even occurred in America with the prologue of
slaves. Throughout American history, racism has been sturdily widespread.
Racism's roots lie profound within the establishment of our society. These
groups hand out as a figure of racism itself to numerous in our society. A
large foundation of the racism in our civilization stems from one's
arrogance in his race. Lots of people, particularly those linked with racist
groups; find it essential to put down other ethnic groups in an effort to
reinforce their own. This mode of contemplation and way of thinking
typically results in great hatred of other races and an overall sense of
prejudice. Way of thinking in this manner equates too many linked with
racist groups. Arrogance in one's race may finally lead to covert racism
contemplation.
Racial politics have distorted since the period of the civil rights
movement, when the matter of race, at its heart, came down basically to
whether whites were prepared to recognize other races as their equals. Now,
on the other hand, the matter of race has become more compound as there are
now manifold agendas including assenting action, quotas, and set-asides.
In other areas, it might not be the white race, however it is still the race
that is consisted of the majority, makes the laws, or has the most money.
These are the keys to control over the weaker minorities that don’t have the
control to prosper under the majority’s system according to their own
enlightening beliefs, principles, and laws.

It is like this each day, all over the
place, and every time, peopling experience discrimination. Different
viewpoints, diverse cultures, different skin color, all of these proceed
like building blocks to assist build what we know as Racism.
Racism has developed into one of the numerous burdens amongst multi-cultural
worlds like Canada and the States. Racial discrimination is a fraction of
each and every one of us. No doubt, we are all racist, but this term racial
discrimination has been used too slackly. Racism has been mutated to such a
degree that it could be a motive for war, a sign of violence, and even a
justification for neglecting. Racism is just like conflict in which there is
no protection and nobody is unbiased.
People are frightened of the unknown, and it is this dissimilarity amongst
people that extend rumors and disbelieve amongst people. Humiliating our
thoughts and reasons, we get familiarized to thinking differences are omens.
Amongst smaller kids, there is no complexity in getting them to all play
mutually. There opinions are not completely corrupted as others. Most likely
the devil has no time to bother with smaller children.
As children start to mature, their acquaintance of the world increases in
excessive figures. They start to full-grown and comprehend the barbarous
features of life. When this fact reaches to a convinced point, the demon
like racism comes subsequent to them. The child begins to appreciate the
term racism and is confident to use it in part of their daily speech. Then
when one walks around the school ground, you wouldn't see children from
diverse ethnic groups playing together. They have become inexplicable to
each other and will never then merge again.
A relation between each other thus terminates. Nobody benefits from this
kind of behavior except for the demon that haunts us. Racial discrimination,
like the demonic stature it has imposed on us is the cause for disbelieve,
treacherous, and discrimination amongst each and every one of us.
There is no ideal way to fight racial and
cultural discrimination, and no matter what racism will possibly always
exist, what we can do though, is to limit its degree as much as possible. We
think that the best bludgeon against racial and cultural discrimination is
intellectual capacity. The best ways to wrestle racism is to think, gain
knowledge of, be open, get an education, and ask questions and first of all:
Get to know other people. The meet with a strange person is not a peril of
losing something; it is a probability of getting something. It is not simply
a possibility to get to know other people and cultures; it is a probability
of getting to know yourself and your own culture. The world might never be
free from racism and prejudices, but if we do our best, it will always be a
bit better.
