The most accurate predictor of a student's achievement in school is the extent of the family's involvement and participation in school-related matters. So in order to improve the level of students’ achievements in the school, we have planned a parent involvement program, which will be helpful to guide the lower- income parents also.

Basic Information about the School
There are 750 students in the school with ages ranging from 5 to 14 years. The School is Public. The children belong to both the Middle class and the low- income families. The High – income group of the society is supporting the program fund. The Government does the rest of the funding. The program is a non-profit project and only aimed towards the well being of the students related to all income groups, specially the lower income group.

Information about the students and their family background:
The students of the school belong mostly to the Lower income groups. More than 50% of students belong to single parent family. Dual working is the necessity of the middle and lower income class, 70% of the parents are dual workers to make the both ends meet.

As we know that in the School, the majority of parents belong to low-income group, so most of the parents are not highly educated. Most of them just completed their High school; some of them have got bachelors degree. The program is specially designed keeping in view the family background of the students, so that it can serve the purpose well.

Goals of the Program
1. The first and the foremost purpose of the program, is to make the parents aware of the importance of their involvement with their children’s studies. As the children who enjoy higher parent involvement, have shown better results.
2. To help and guide the parents provide a good atmosphere to the child at the home also in order to increase his efficiency in education and in every aspect of life.
3. Another important purpose of the program is to guide the parents about the language to some extent and to make them understand the importance of provision of guidance to their children so that they can effectively communicate in the class and may not suffer language barriers.

Level of Involvement
The program is specially designed to keep the parents involve in every aspect of the studies of their children. Parents and children share a special bonding with one another, which cannot be shared by anyone else. Usage of this bonding can be helpful to encourage the students in their educational performance. Parents can best understand the needs of their children. In planning the Parents involvement levels the usefulness of this special bonding is kept in mind.

Ways of involving and communicating with Parents
