Personal Experience: First Time I Hit a Homerun

Sports are more than just fun and enjoyment. Taking up a sport can open a whole new world to a person where he or she can learn and explore new things and meet new different people. My interest in baseball, especially after my first homerun, has made me become who I am today.

     I cannot forget the moment and the day when I hit my first ever homerun. I was just 10 years old. I was very pleased with my first homerun. After hitting it all of sudden I felt like I am a world-class player. I felt like I had never been happier in my whole life. I was finally being the real me. I was so pumped. I felt like I achieved all of my childhood dreams of hitting the perfect homerun.

After my first homerun my confidence level was back up and I felt like I would do well enough in the whole tournament to be happy and to help my team. I felt like I am on the top of the world. I felt like I could do anything I want and I did not care about any of my physical problems. After that homerun my coaches and teammates believed in me, and I started believing in myself again. All teammates congratulated me for my first ever homerun. I felt like a super-star. I just needed that shot of confidence.

After my first homerun I felt like I was perfectly ready both physically and mentally and I was really pumped up. I felt like I gave me team the solid innings that we needed. I actually felt like I knew what I was doing. I felt like we have actually won the game.

In the locker room at the end of the game, when it was over, I was so happy that I started crying in front of my friends. It may sound too much, but it was very special moment for me. My first homerun also help me to build solid relationships with my teammates. It has given me the strength to accept my defeat and never quit. It was simply an incredible and unforgettable moment for me.

Baseball is a game uniquely defined by personal experience. For me, the game, especially first homerun has been a vehicle for lifelong friendships. I will never be able to forget my first homerun and how I felt at that time. This has been a great lifetime experience for me. After achiecing my first homerun I felt like we needed the success more importantly than we needed to enjoy this moment, so I started concentrating on my game strategies. Now I have learned even more since my first homerun.
